He started as a BMX and MTB downhill rider, which eventually led to motorsport. First, Simon drove enduro but soon switched to rally. In 2014, he participated in the Dakar Rally – his long-life dream – for the first time. He always takes part in the Original category race, where riders still compete like at the beginnings of Dakar Rally – they are not allowed to receive any outside support and have to service everything themselves.
